This New Year's Eve the Times Square ball drop will be powered by Citi Bike.

This year something new is happening in New York. The New York City Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan announced that a Citi Bike will be used to light up the New Year's Eve ball on Tuesday. The stationary bike generator will be pedaled by celebrators and visitors at Times Square. It can accommodate six riders, and be expected to produce 75 watts per hour.
